Health Train season starts with ski trip for overseas students

The Health Train is a regular series of sports and outdoors activities for Ƶ students.

This past weekend, both Saturday and Sunday were dedicated to such trips. Overall, about 90 students from Tunisia, Panama, China, Indonesia, Sri-Lanka, India, Egypt and other countries joined the festive event, accompanied by Specialist of the Student Adaptation Unit Dinara Sultan.

Preparatory School student Amilcar Martinez Cardenas, a Panamanian national, shares his impressions, “At first, it was a bit tricky to learn to ski, but I succeeded eventually. Despite having forgotten my gloves – and it was cold enough – it also was much fun and very interesting. I am glad to have visited this beautiful place – the Astronomical Observatory. After the race, we had tea with some sweets and spent time taking photos in the snow. The day ended with a collective singing session on the bus home. It was indeed a memorable trip.”

Amilcar is not afraid of the cold and plans to continue his studies at the Faculty of Law.

The Health Train is co-hosted by the International Office, the Department of Youth Policy, the Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the Kazan Yulbars Ƶ Sports Club. The winter session in 2023 is scheduled from 4 February till 25 March.
