Representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed at Ƶ




A delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation headed by Tarig Ali Bakhit, OIC Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, paid a working visit to Ƶ.
Tarig Ali Bakhit arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to participate in the Kazan Global Youth Summit events. The delegation also included the Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Boubakari Maiga.
Ƶ was represented by: Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina, and Deputy Director of the International Office Yana Yevdokimova.
During the official meeting, the delegation listened to a presentation of Ƶ’s current priorities and cooperation with OIC states. During the presentation, Dr Alishev summarized that 7,042 citizens of the OIC member study at Ƶ as of now. There are cooperation agreements with universities of 20 OIC member states.
“We work quite closely with various OIC agencies in science, technology, culture, and education. Today we are talking about the practices of cooperation that we already have. These are conferences of young scientists that we hold, various academic mobility programs and so on,” commented the Vice-Rector.
Ƶ recommended to the delegates a number of universities that work under the auspices of the OIC to further strengthen ties, as well as funding mechanisms for academic mobility programs.
“We agreed to work out issues related to attracting additional financial resources aimed at supporting the academic mobility of young scientists from OIC countries who want to come to us to conduct research,” Alishev added.
At the end of the visit, the guests were presented with a memorable gift – a clock with the image of Kazan University.
